Welcome to Sutton NSPCC Branch

Welcome to Sutton NSPCC Branch. We are a small but committed group of volunteers who undertake fund-raising in the area to promote the work of the NSPCC and to raise funds for their many projects.  We meet regularly to discuss and plan our fund-raising ideas and how we can best implement them.

We work closely with our regional NSPCC Community team.  We are always keen to recruit new volunteers and if you have a few hours to spare either on a regular basis or for ad hoc events, we’d like to hear from you.

If you have a skill or expertise in a particular area, we may be able to make use of that skill.  Below are some of the events in which we have been and continue to be involved.

Fetes and Fairs

We have a regular Autumn or Christmas Fair and also a Fair in the Spring.  These are usually held in Sutton, Wallington or Cheam at a Church, School or public hall.  There are book stalls, bric-a-brac, good as new, toys, raffles, tombola, face painting, cakes and of course refreshments.  We have also arranged stalls at events such the Environmental Fair.

Concerts & Parties

We have organised several concerts and parties including choral soirees, Elvis nights, Mad Hatter Tea Parties, Jazz evenings and many more.  We also have our annual and much loved Gardeners’ Question Time.

Collections

We have regular store collections at the mainstream supermarkets includng TESCO, Morrison’s Sainsburys etc.  These allow us to engage with the public as they enter or exit the stores.  Our door to door collections are local and volunteers undertake these covering small routes in their own neighbourhood if they prefer.  We also participate in the Santa Collection in the run up to Christmas.

Quiz Nights

We have held several Quiz Nights, and these are very popular.  We also have fish and chip or similar buffets at these events and they are always very well-attended.
